CYFN Membership Re-instatement

Whereas;  The Council of Yukon First Nations (CYFN) was originally established in 1973 with the mandate 
		to negotiate land claims. Since its establishment, CYFN has evolved and adapted its mandate 
		to accommodate both Self-Governing and Non Self-Governing First Nations;

Whereas;  In 2009, the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation ceased its membership within CYFN;

Whereas;  It is time to strengthen relationships amongst Yukon First Nations and First Nations across the 
		circumpolar North due to the changing political, economical, environmental, health, and 
		social challenges we collectively face.


Therefore Be It Resolved;	

THAT the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation reinstate its membership within CYFN in order to renew 
partnerships and develop a common agenda where appropriate on a technical and political level.
