Resolution No. 2011-07 - Passed by Consensus

Air North

Whereas;  Freight and food mail often go missing in the system with no real recourse for the very people
		that the Nutrition North Program was intended to benefit;       

Whereas;  Vuntut Gwitchin citizens, especially youth, often apply to positions with Air North with no 
		response or opportunity for employment;

Whereas;  Scholarships are not offered to our youth to encourage careers in the airline and aviation 
		industry;       

Whereas;  There are no Air North benefits specifically for Vuntut Gwitchin Elders. Benefits specifically 
		for our Elders would show commitment and strong partnership with Vuntut Gwitchin citizens.


Therefore Be It Resolved;	

THAT a thorough investigation into the mentioned concerns be conducted and a resolution to the 
problem be respectfully found;

FURTHER THAT a Vuntut Gwitchin citizen participate on the Air North Human Resources Committee to 
ensure a proud partnership with Air North;

FURTHER THAT Vuntut Gwitchin Elders receive either (a) freight subsidy or (b) a gratuity of one round 
trip airfare per fiscal year to anywhere Air North flies.
